Direct answers
These answers establish the evidence needed for a useful technical conversation.
Define the finished pack first: full presentation wrap, open-sided bundle, applied sleeve label or compact batch pack. Then provide the product range, film, output and line interfaces. That information normally narrows the choice to an L-sealer, sleeve sealer, heat tunnel, chamber machine or sleeve-application route.
A model should be selected only after representative samples and the practical operating envelope have been considered.
Provide product dimensions and weight, pack orientation, smallest and largest formats, desired finished pack, production film details, sustained output, available services, floor layout and the upstream and downstream equipment. Photographs and representative samples reduce assumptions.
State any heat-sensitive labels, closures, coatings or contents, plus the acceptance defects that are not permitted.
A sample trial is particularly important when the pack is unstable, heat-sensitive, unusually shaped, dependent on printed film or expected to run across a wide format range. It is also useful whenever the accepted appearance or sustained output cannot be confirmed from published machine data alone.
Use production-condition samples and film where possible, then record the approved result and test conditions.
Ask what counts as an accepted pack. Output is meaningful only when seal integrity, film finish, product condition, pack stability, cooling and downstream handling are within the agreed limits. A high instantaneous rate with repeated rejects, intervention or unstable recovery is not the sustainable production rate.
The accepted rate should include normal loading, gaps, restarts and representative changeovers.
